My precious Moppy passed away last night in my arms. She was just at or over 4 years old. She was one of my favorites. She is the light colored silkie/sheltie pig in my avatar.       |

I'm sorry Ly. That must be so hard. She was adorable ,too! She was priveleged to have a great slave like you. DO you know why she passed on? |

I'm sorry Ly. It is so hard to say goodbye. Someone said once that the closer you get to them while they're here, the longer they stay with you when they're gone. It's so true, and still so very hard to let them go. |

Just after 8 last night, I noticed she was having problems. I got her up out of the cage and she appeared to be having some sort of seizure. She was also having issues with her nose, it was runny and wheezy sounding with a little bit of crusties and mucous inside. Since there are no emergency vets anywhere near where I live, I was going to take her to the vet and have her there when they opened this morning, because the nose issues indicated URI. I got her nose/breathing under control by taking her in the bathroom and running hot water to create steam and used a baby nasal syringe to suck out some of the goop. Her nose and breathing weren't too bad after that. The seizures, however, continued and she was having them more and more frequently the last half hour or so before she passed. She would try to walk and the seizures would hit and they were like full body seizures. You could just feel her whole body spasm. It made me cry a few times to see her in such distress. She passed away about 11:30-11:35. From the time I first noticed her having problem until she passed, I held her and kept her with me. |
