Sleep well Sir Lancelot

Our animal family has dwindled once more. When I came downstairs yesterday to go out to breakfast with my fiance, I found our oldest cat Lance sprawled out, lifeless on the kitchen floor. He lived to be 15 years 7 months old and gave us more than a lifetime of love and wonderful memories. I'll always miss you Lance.

R.I.P. Lance. I am sure the piggies and your owners will miss you. We'll all meet up in a place called Heaven. R.I.P. once again.

Re: Sleep well Sir Lancelot

I'm so sorry about Lance.

He's over the bridge playing with my mom's cat (Jethro...died Oct. 6...age 16).

We'll see you again boys.

Re: Sleep well Sir Lancelot

Thank you for your kind words everyone. I can barely believe that it's been almost 2 months since Lance passed away.

My fiance and father buried him in our back yard the day it happened, and it's only now that I can go into the yard without crying. They put two stepping stones on top of the grave, so no scavengers could dig him up, and a small boulder behind it like a headstone.

When I went outside this evening on the deck to cook dinner, the area in that part of the yard looked so peaceful. Autumn leaves were breezing over his grave, and bits of soft moss have started growing around the stones like the stones I placed on the few cavy and hamster graves also in the yard. I'm considering buying or building a bench to put out there amongst all of them.

Re: Sleep well Sir Lancelot

I only just saw this, I'm sorry to hear about Lance. His grave sounds lovely, I can understand how sad you were going out into the yard.
