My poor Choc Chips. You'll be sadly missed :'(

Today has been a very sad day for me. My guinea pig Choc Chips has passed away today.I do not know his exact age but i have had him for four years. This morning at 9.00am i went to feed him, his brother and nephew. He climbed on my lap as he always do to get food for me.He took the food had a little than ran under his hidey house. He stopped then struggled. i picked him up and placed him on my bed. His back legs did not seem to move. i quickly called the vet as i have no one to drive me. Before they could come. He had passed away.I feel he has had a fit but i knew something was wrong. I had took him to the vet last saturday and they gave him a b12 injection and i thought he was going to get well. I just can't stop crying. Choc chips lay right in front of me as i type now. I have placed him in his favourite cozy.

just a piece of mind. Would anyone know what he would have died from. When i took him to the vet on saturday, they were palpating him near the rump and he was moaning and moaning. However the vet said there was no lumps and also checked for impaction.when he was dying his jaw kept opening involuntarily. Is this a fit?

Oh i miss him so so much.
R.I.P Choc chips. You will be sadly missed.

The only way to find out is by doing a necropsy.

Sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss! It is so very painful to lose a pet. Others may not understand, but we all do.

Just do whatever you need to do to grieve and know it is all right.

I'm sorry for your loss. What was the reason for the B12 injection?

Re: My poor Choc Chips. You'll be sadly missed :'(

Thanks everyone. I did took work off yesterday but will be going in for the rest of the week. I look terrible though. I just can't stop crying. It's not the same without him. My partner buried him last night and all i keep thinking is Choc chips. When i go feed the rest of my piggies, its not the same. There's no Choc chips running up onto my lap to get food. His brother and his nephew is not the same either. They really miss him.

When Choc chips went to the vet, they said he looked pale. I also describe to them that Choc chips was not as active as he use to be and his poo pellets were not as long, so i thought maybe it was impaction. They gave him the B12 injection to make him more lively and Metomide to push his bowels. The only thing that really worries me is that when they palpated him near the inner part his hind legs he would moan and moan.

I'm so sorry. I know how bad it hurts right now, but time will heal. You'll never, ever forget Choc chips, but you will have fewer tears as time goes by.

Rest in peace little one. You were very loved and will be badly missed.
