Bought on July 16th 2003 as a therapy pet, Charlie got me through months of chronic anxiety and phobias. The main reason I pulled myself out of those dark days were for Charlie; he needed me.

He adored Tuppence from the moment they met in August '04, and was delighted when we built his first C&C cage, changed his pellets, hay, veggies and bedding for the better, and adopted him two more women. What more could a guy want?!

He had his share of health problems. The diagnosis of his tumour devastated me, but not as much as his passing last night. I think he had a stroke; the back foot that he had problems with in 06/07 seemed paralysed again, and he had no strength. I syringed him a few mls of Critical Care but he didn't swallow it. When I brought the salad up, I had to lift him from beneath the ramp. He just laid his head in his veggies and wouldn't eat. I called Vedra, took him in, with Tuppence in the carrier so she was with him on that final car journey, and said goodbye before Vedra took him away for his injection and to drift off to sleep.



Charlie, you meant the world to me. I know I did well by you for the latter part of your life, I owed it to you. And everything you've inspired, all the ideas you gave to me - it's all going to happen. You were sent to me to save me; I couldn't save you ultimately but I will do everything in my power to make sure your legacy lives on, and to make sure your story gets out there. You were one heck of a pig and I am so going to miss calling your name. Your girls miss you but we all know you are with us spiritually. Cleaning the cage was hard today but I know you wouldn't want your women, "Charlie's Angels", to be in a dirty cage.

I will never forget what you did for me.
Rest well my baby, Mummy will always love you. xxx

Oh Laura I am so sorry. Charlie was a one of a kind pig and his passing is so sad. I know how it feels to have a guy like. I had that with Hercules and I know it's going to be hard with the days ahead but we're here for you.
