(Mods, I am not sure if this section is for piggers only. If so, my apologies, and could you please move this over to the Cafe? Thank you)

Goodbye, sweet Ginger. I just found Ginger, our albino gerbil. He passed sometime this evening. He was a good soul and a good friend. He was the first rodent in our house, and opened the door for several more, including our pigs. It's just not going to be the same around here without him.

He lived to a ripe old age, and I am comforted to think that we gave him as good a life as we could - a big tank, lots of deep fresh litter, good things to eat, and all the toilet paper tubes a little guy could chew.

Thanks for listening, everyone. I knew this was the one place that I could talk about Ginger with people who would understand completely why I am crying so hard over a tiny little rodent.

RIP, my friend, and thanks for sharing your life with us.
