My 18 month old Abyssinian Paul (in my member pic) passed away last night. He seemed fine until yesterday, weight was steady, was eating, drinking etc. He had been getting impacted for the last few days, but I made sure to check him 2-3 times a day to clean him out, and he seemed ok. Then yesterday when I went to say hello to him, he seemed very tired and his eyes were sunken. I booked a vet appt for that evening, and kept him out with me. Then he started heaving and watery stuff was coming out, and then (the worst) he became very limp and wouldn't stand up properly. I rang the emergency vet and went straight there. She said he was very dehyrated, but they didn;t know why (couldn't do any tests as he was in a critical condition). We left him there whilst they were going to try and treat him overnight, but at 11pm last night the vet rang and said he had passed away whilst they were treating him.

I am sorry to hear about Paul. That sounds to have been quite a traumatic time for you too. Know that you did your very best for him, he will be running free now.
