| Hennessee is gone ~
Hello all ~
It's been a while since I've really been on here due to an automobile accident and issues from that. The last month has been really hard ~ Hennessee passed away on October 18th, which was, of all days, Sapphire's 1st birthday.
That morning she didn't want to eat and showed no interest in her veggies.
We had her in to the vet that same day, but she passed on there. It was SO hard! When the vet was checking her he found a small mass, probably some kind of tumor. He wanted me to feel it, but I couldn't do it ~ she was in too much pain. She was screaming when he did it, and she's usually the stoic one. I know he was doing his job trying to figure out what was going on with her, but I just wanted to smack him! Anyhow, he thinks the pain of the exam sent her over the edge, and she was pretty much gone. Just her body breathing every so often, so we had her pain stopped (if she was even conscious).
It was such a shock! If the lady we rescued her from was right then she was only 2 1/2 yrs old! We were expecting her to be around for many more years!
Diamond and Sapphire have adjusted O.K. now, but for a few days they just sat around, kind of freaked out. Hennessee was their security and comfort. Diamond knew something was wrong that day. She'd keep going over and snuggling right up to her and sometimes would try to nudge her and get her to move around.
Oh, I miss her so much!!! I miss her piggy kisses (she's the only one who gives them) and snuggles. I think the dogs even missed her ~ she would always come to the side of the cage to see them and do noses. She was so funny, not afraid of much of anything. I wonder if I'll ever meet another pigger like her...
