My heart hurts for Shadow

Shadow died this morning. He's never been sick ( He was only 3 1/2 years old and the sweetest, most gentle guinea pig. He loved to hide under newspapers and do a little "love walk" around the girls! He had stopped eating yesterday afternoon, and I started some critical care. He didn't even want that. I called the vet (thank goodness they work on Sundays too), but he didn't make it. He died on the way to the vets ( I've decided to get an autopsy, which they'll do at Ohio State University. I'm still in shock

We are having him cremated and his ashes will be buried in an apple orchard. He loved his apples! I miss him so much.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Perhaps the autopsy will help provide information for all guinea pig lovers and for the treatment the doctors provide.

I'm so sorry! That's terrible!
And it seems like the same thing that happened to my Liloo. Please post the result of the autopsy later, if you can.

I am so sorry. It's so hard when it is so fast and you didn't even see it coming. But for Shadow, hopefuly he didn't suffer and all he knew in his life was unconditional love.
