Unhappy The Pain Is So Sharp....

Our *PRECIOUS* Oscar Died today.

"Just Old Age", the vet said.

(Oscar was one of *T*'s resued piggies that we got from her a few years ago.)

Right now all I can do is tear up every time I think of my little guy.
We loved him SOOOOOooooo...... much.
We are going to miss our precious little Oscar.

He was the sweetest little guy.

I cut some of Oscar's hair and sewn it onto a stuff toy guinea pig, and placed it in their play area for Fizbit. They were the best friends. -

I just checked on Fizbit, and he is sleeping next to the stuff animal.

Debbie, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much you love all of your furbabies. Oscar was one special piggie and he knew how much he was adored by you and Scott. Give little Fizbit kisses from the WEAVER's and please know that you are in my thoughts.

Rest in peace Oscar. You will surely be missed little man.

Debbie and Scott, I am so sorry to hear about your precious little Oscar. I too know the heartache of losing a little one, and will be thinking of you , as I'm sure Oscar will too - that link of love is never lost. Take care.

RIP sweet Oscar

Aww, I'm so very sorry. Send my regards to Fizbit- give him a little extra scratch behind the ear for me. I know how hard it is to lose a pig, and I hope that one day you'll feel a little better.

Unhappy Re: The Pain Is So Sharp....

Thank you all for your kinds words and compassion.
They do help so much.
People who have gp's understand how deeply they get into your heart, and how extremely sad it is when they leave us.
My eyes are so swollen from crying.
I have bags underneath my eyes.

Last night I dug up one of our beautiful potted azalea topiary plant, and placed our little Oscar in the soil beside Larry, who died a couple years ago. Then I put the azalea back into its pot and added some fresh soil.
Oscar is now in his final resting spot.

Larry and Oscar both came to us from *T*. They were paired while at her rescue. Both died from advanced old age.

We knew that Oscar was getting close to the end of his life for several weeks now. He was just getting slower and slower, and sleeping more. His lungs remained clear to the very end, and he was eating, peeing, and pooping up to the morning of his death. When I went into give the boys their morning salad, I noticed that Oscar was having a difficult time moving. I took him right away to the vet, just to see if there was anything else that I should be doing for little Oscar, and the vet (who has taken care of Oscar from the day we brought him home) said his heart was just too weak, and he was dying. * At which time I started crying softly, which caused a chain reaction within the vet office. Even Dr. Stevens was crying, and her staff. They lovingly gave Oscar O2, and warmed him up, but within a few hours he decided it was time to leave us.

I keep going in and checking on Fizbit.
I cry everytime I go into the room.
Sewing the strand of Oscars hair onto that toy stuffed guinea pig appears to be working. Fizbit "rumble struts" around the stuffed gp, and sleeps beside it. We added a two large mirrors inside the cage for Fizbit to see himself, and rearranged his play area. Added a cardboard tunnel. And some crumpled paper inside the cage to keep him interested.

We have no regrets, cause we know we gave him a good life, and in return he caused our hearts to grow larger with love.

We Miss you Oscar... Be (((( HAPPY )))) little one.

Thank you all.

Re: The Pain Is So Sharp....

I cried reading your last post. How lucky Oscar and Fizbit are to have found such love and compassion with you. You're right--no one understands the pain of losing a little piggie unless you have had one wiggle their way into your heart. I am still mourning Elvis' passing 2 1/2 weeks ago but I don't talk about it to my non-piggy friends because they just odn't understand.

I hope the pain soon subsides and is replaced by the happy memories you have with Oscar.
