| Rest well my sweet Lola. It is through a new wave of tears that I type this. I had always thought it would be much later, at least two or three years, that I would have to make this thread. I know I haven't been here on GPC in quite awhile, and it grieves me to think that this is the topic that's made me return. Today I came home from school and put my gym back in my room, then turned to pet the girls and give them some fresh hay. To my alarm, Lola was laying on her side right in the middle of the cage. At first I thought she was sleeping, but when I got closer I knew she was gone. I have no idea why she passed away. In December she would have been only four years old. She had no marks, no blood, it looks as though she just layed down and went to sleep. The ramp wasn't even in the cage so I know she couldn't have fallen or anything. She was perfectly normal, even this morning she was running around wheeking for food and playing with her windchime. She had no symptoms, it was just so sudden. I still expect to hear that windchime or to walk in and have Lola stand up and greet me. I just don't know what to do with myself. Lola was my second pig, the sweetest thing you could ever imagine. I know her sister Queen is missing her already, and Queenie isn't even four yet either, so I'll have to decide whether or not to get another pig. It just doesn't seem fair; Lola was so young. If there was anything I could've done differently, I wish I had known. I would do anything to have my Lola Pig back. The last week I've been so busy; the girls haven't had quite as much lap time, and even though they've had their hay and water, their veggies have just been a mix of leftovers instead of their daily menu because I couldn't make it to the store. I feel like the worst pig mom in the whole world. Sleep well, my sweet Lola. I know you're happy in piggy Heaven with all the hay and veggies you can eat. I'll always miss you and I thank you for all the things you've given me. I know you had a good life with me and Queen. What I wouldn't give to hold you in my arms once more. I love you Lola.
