Unhappy Fidget Went To The Rainbow Bridge

Fidget, my special needs piggie, went to the Rainbow Bridge last night. His final week was filled with fun. He wasn't having any impaction problems and was even playing. He loved his new blanket and would hide under it!

However,

the last 24 hours he stopped eating and drinking. He stayed under his blanket all day. I checked on him last night and noticed he was impacted. I cleared the impaction. He softly wheeked a couple of times in protest but I knew he wasn't doing well.

When I checked on him this morning, he had gone on to the Rainbow Bridge. My other piggies have been exceptionally quiet (even when I gave them fresh hay -- unusual for this group).

I'm just glad that I was able to give Fidget a good home for the short time that I had him.

May he rest in peace and get all the "Wheek-Wheek" (our term for the good munchies) he wants.

Awww...I am so sorry. I'm glad he had such a great home while he was with you. Just think of how many piggie friends he's playing with now. I am sorry for your loss. You'll be in my thoughts.

Re: Fidget Went To The Rainbow Bridge

Thanks for all the sympathy wishes. I'm getting ready to clean out the cage he was in. I couldn't bring myself to do it any earlier. Since I'm taking a break from mowing, I figured now would be a good time to do it.

I take comfort knowing that he's in a much better place right now.
