My Little Squirt is gone...

Squirt passed away yesterday. I am out of state and have a friend caring for my rescue animals and personal pets. He was letting Squirt run loose and she ran under the cage he had just cleaned and he dropped it down on top of her. She was only a few months old and was very special to me. When she was born she came out with a twin, born at the same moment and identical looking. The other didnt make it and mom rejected Squirt. I spent 15 minutes rubbing her down, warming her up and breathing for her. She survived and lived in my pocket for a week being handfed. She has spent the past few months being carried around in my pocket on and off, has been with me every day. She has always seen me as her mom and loved giving piggy kisses and lots of love. I will miss her forever.

How terrible, I'm so sorry! What an awful way to lose your poor piggy. I'm having a pig-sitter come to my house soon since I'll be out of town for three weeks, and after reading this I will make extra sure she will be careful.

Thanks everyone. I blame myself in a way because I feel like I should have been here, but I had to be out of state house hunting. (I did find a house and it is in the country, perfect for my rescue) It is hard to see her missing from the 'herd'. I cant wait to get moved and get everyone back into their big cages.
