Ly - my most sincere condolences to you. What an absolute shock. I know this is a bit different, but my uncle passed away at 27 years old from a heart infection which nobody had known about until he died. I use this only as an example that there are sometimes things we can't ever know about or predict until they happen. You gave him all that a cavy could ask for in life and although his time was short, it was full of love and care. Your mom has some furry popcorning company to keep her warm now... I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry Ly, My old guinea pig Winky died unexpectedly also. I cried for days and I know how much it hurts inside. Just think of how happy your mom and Wheeky are now that they are together again.

Thanks all for your words of condolance and sympathy. I've seen far more death than I have wanted to in the last 2 1/2 months. I've lost my mom and two friends all within about a 2-3 week span, and then 2 pets (one gerbil and then Wheeky). Also my brother's dog was killed by a car a couple weeks ago. Life has been rougher than normal for me lately. I'm surprised sometimes that I have the energy or even the courage to face each new day. But somehow, some way I manage to pull myself together enough to take each day as it comes. Partly because I have a great support system here through friends I have made on the forum and also through real life friends and family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can relate and feel your pain. People like us always feel we could of done more but in reality we've done all we could do. If we were omnipotent we would know what is going to happen and then prevent it. But sadly we are mortals. My goes out to you.
