I am so, so sorry Ryan. You've really had it hard these last few days and I can't begin to imagine what it's like for you. Thinking of you and Nugget (and your other piggies).

I feel very bad for you. It must be heart wrenching. I couldn't imagine losing one of mine. I hope your hurt lessens as time goes on.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Nugget was a very special guinea pig and I miss him very much. I know he was loved and I gave him a good home and I know he had lots of friends even if he only lived with three others.

Im so sorry! You did the right thing by adopting him. And you should think that he went over he rainbow bridge in a lovin home rather than in a cold shelter!

Hi Ryan,

I think everyone who has been with this forum for awhile can clearly say that you give wonderful attention and make an enormous time and monetary commitment to the pigs you own. I hope that you can take comfort in the knowledge that Nugget was one lucky lucky pig and that sometimes its more important to look at the QUALITY of a life rather than the length of that life - I just wish there were more people on the planet that cared for their critters the way you care. Know that my thoughts are with you. WendyK

My condolences, Ryan. It is difficult to admit when it's time to think of Nugget, and not of losing him. I dread ever having to face that decision. But, you put Nugget first, and gave him the best option.

I really feel for you, and what you must be going through. I've been trying to save Fluffy for almost a week now. She has a URI, and she's only two weeks old today. I am drained both physically and emotionally, from dosing her, and trips to the vet every other day, and trying to get her to eat veggies. Thank goodness she's still nursing. She's not gaining weight, but, thankfully, she's not losing weight, either. Now, they're having to change her antibiotic since the first one's not working, so I have to give her shots twice a day. She's trying so hard. As long as she tries, I will try, also.

I'm sure CC will keep you busy, so while you will grieve for Nugget, CC will be there as a testament that life must go on. Hang in there, as you are an angel. Nugget was lucky to have you!
