Today, we went to Petsmart (blah) and bought Oxbow Cavy Performance and Orchard Grass hay for our girls and I cannot even begin to tell you how pleased I am! As much as we hate to admit this, we were feeding them Wal-Mart brand food, and we hated it with a passion. I refuse to make excuses for why we did not buy Oxbow sooner, but I do know how disgusting and unhealthy those cheap pellets are. What matters is that they are getting healthy food now. I'm sure that we have established long ago that pet store employees are definitely not smart enough to have the jobs that they do, but I have my own tales to tell.

As you may have read in my post, our girl Freya is sick. On Monday morning we picked up our girls to put them in the floor time pen and we noticed that there was blood and poop on Freya's butt. I then looked at the fleece and saw that where she was sitting there was poop smeared around, diarrhea. We went in and gave Freya a butt bath and dried her off. I am so happy to say that our quarantine and introductions with our new female Villette (Villie) went very well! The first day of introductions was a little rough, which was very expected with our "Wild Child" Abys, Freya and Haylee. Freya was our first of the three and has a strong, dominant personality because of it. Our second female Haylee was very submissive to Freya, so that worked out well.
