Well, the pigs are finally getting their own piece of furniture, mostly so that I can have the space underneath the cage for storage. Now that they'll be a few feet off the ground, I'm having some slight anxieties about them trying to climb out of the cage and falling to their deaths.... or injuries. But they haven't climbed out yet, the height can only be a deterrent, right?
Now, this is all pending their much-needed cage expansion. Which is pending me picking up their choroplast....

What a Christmas. now that it's all said and done, the focus is back on the pigs.
Ani's making leaps and bounds as far as confidence is concerned, I think Fred's having a positive influence. Occasionally she'll come out of her hidey to say hello when I'm cleaning, and our Christmas present from her was the knowledge that yes, she can actually make noises, and she wheeks incredibly loudly. The first time my mother heard it she asked who was screaming. She still wheeks from the safety...

Long, fretting, unnecessary rant ahead. Proceed with caution.
On Sunday I adopted a spayed female, Antheia, as my boy Fred's cagemate. The way the rescue works, they quarantine their pigs and have introductions done at the rescue for the best possible matches. Fred picked Antheia and they get along reasonably well.
I was warned that she was a timid pig, but this is beyond my expectations. She hardly ever leaves the tunnel hidey she has grown to love, and I have to put...
