I'd suggest doing the same as your guinea pigs, layers of towels + 1 layer fleece on top. It's super easy to sew little pillows if you have a sewing machine, but even if you don't I think it'd be easy still. Just get some polyester "fluff" or batting to fill up the pillow with, I use scrap fleece to make them.
I was just wondering, do you know what I could use for mice bedding? I switched to fleece so I wouldn't have to keep buying that expensive Carefresh bedding, and would rather not have to keep buying it for my mice's cage. My mice absolutely LOVE pushing around their bedding and burrowing in it and stuff. I was thinking of doing what I do with my guinea pigs bedding. Just fleece with some towels underneath it and then maybe a bunch of small pillows for them to push around and stuff. Do you think that would work? or possibly you have some other ideas? The bedding would have to be reusable so that I don't have to keep buying more...
Yeah. Somebody told me about the grids you can buy at Bed Bath & Beyond. It sure seems like a better deal than those other deals out there. I've heard the target ones are unsafe, and definately plan on staying away from them.
I bought the grids for my base at Bed Bath and Beyond for 14 dollars for a box. The white ones on my actual cage were in the kit I bought from Sue on this site when I had a 2x4. Stay away from the Target ones cause they're unsafe. I've heard besides BB&B, K-mart sells them? I'd search the forums or post a new thread asking.
Okay I found it once you go to blogs, then your blog, there's a post blog button. I think you have to be a Cavy Slave though. Which you will be soon :]
