My guinea pig cries when she poops help?

Hello, my guinea pig cries when she poops and has soft(sometimes deformed) poop. I've tried changing her pellets and nothing happened. I am not sure if she was like this when I got her because she didn't cry, but after a few weeks she started having soft poop(and she was really really skinny). Also the lady that I bought her from said that she had veggies in the morning. I thought it was strange because my other guinea pig had veggies a few times a day.Truly I don't believe she ever had veggies because when I gave her veggies she started smelling them and was not sure what they were. Now she always cries when she has to poop. I've tried not giving her veggies and it worked for a while. Then I gave her a bit of lettuce and it started again. She has not lost any weight, I'm actually happy that she's been gaining weight and growing nicely. She's almost as big as my other guinea pig that's 1 year and a half. Another important detail is that she is pregnant and I'm scared that it might affect the babies somehow. When I found out she was pregnant I've separated her from my other guinea pig. She loves veggies and fruits and she even tried strawberries, but they were a little too sour for her and she kept moving her head away from the strawberry a few times. I did not try giving her orange. I heard it might help her. It just makes me sad when I hear her cry. Now she started crying when she hears my other guinea pig eat carrots. I've got a bag of treats for guinea pigs that also has dried carrots in it. She seems to like those too.

Hi Alexandra020. I'm a newbie, too, so I don't know much about guinea pigs. If you have a regular vet, you could always call them and see if they think she needs to see a doctor. This is what I do and sometimes the vet helps me over the phone and sometimes they want me to bring in the guinea pig or cats so that they can have a look. I hope this helps. You are best to find a vet who specializes in exotics because regular cat/dog vets don't know much about guinea pigs. Hope all goes well with her. Good luck. And welcome to the forum.

If she is making squealing noises maybe she has a uti. Maybe it's when she pees and not poops

Crying when she pees or poops can (and often is) a symptom of a urinary tract infection or stone. It's great that she's gaining weight - are you weighing her regularly? What have her weights been?

I'd get her in to a cavy savvy vet asap. Stones/UTIs are painful and can become life threatening quickly.
