What is it and should I be conserned?
What is impaction? I have seen it in som e places but I just kinda dismissed it.
I have two boars about a year old. Both get their "man hood" cleaned every week. They have Oxbow pellets (had sludge problems with lucky on KMS), Timothy hay, and fresh veggies.
The pigs seem healthy.
What is impaction and should I be worried?

Impaction is the back-up of feces in a male's sac. It usually happens only to older, intact boars who get insufficient exercise. At a year old, I'd be very surprised if either of yours is impacted.

It's great that you're cleaning out their anal sacs regularly. they're a little young to be so worried about impaction. it tends to happen mostly with older boars. but good for you for getting educated ahead of time! i have a boar who i adopted with "chronic impaction". after several weeks of lots of hay and veggies, and lots of exercise and running around, the problem cleared up and, for now anyway, he's pooing on his own. he's 5 1/2 years old. i do still have to keep an eye on him tho.

impaction is where the poo gets blocked and is harder to push it out.
I've figured it as something to worry about because it there gets too be too much blockage then they cannot expel anything.
seeing as you clean them every week I don't think you'll get any impaction.
