I would take your piggy to the vet if you suspect somethings wrong.
    Here's a thread on it: http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/...-wheeking.html

Not all guinea pigs are very noisy; my 5-year old Quee is pretty much silent except for rare occasions. But labored breathing is a definite warning sign; you ought to get him to a vet. Piggies are very good at hiding their symptoms until the last possible minute, and they are prone to upper respiratory infections. Where are you located? I'm sure someone here can recommend a good exotics vet in your area.

Yes, if you suspect something is wrong with his breathing please get him to a vet soon. Plus an initial checkup is a good idea usually, as well.

Both of my Pigs make a good deal of noise, but mainly once they hear a sound that they know.

Try this to make your Pigs make some noise:

Whenever you feed your Pigs, try to find something you can make noise with. Make the noise before you give them their food, and do this each day and they may begin to associate food with that noise.

Good luck and keep us updated!
