i live in middlesex county myself. for my generally healthy pigs, or for small, non-emergent things, i go to princeton animal hospital where one of their vets has guinea pig experience, though not very extensive. enough for the "little" things. i just recently found another real specialist. north star vets in robbinsville is a 24/7 animal hospital and clinic. there's a vet there, dr doulen, who is an exotic specialist. he's the guy i'll be bringing my lethal whites to. i've also heard great things about the facility and the staff there. hope this helps

the 2 boys i'm adopting are both blind, deaf, and appear to have some developmental delays (they still act like babies in term of their social behaviors). they have overgrowing top teeth that need to be trimmed and only one of them has one little bottom front tooth. they're a good weight, and so far seem to have pretty good digestive systems.
i'm excited, and of course, a tad nervous too. i'm sure i'll be posting alot about them as things come up.
You will be making such a great difference in those piggies lives! :) I hope everything goes well. You will take amazing care of them :)

its a great thing what youre doing. lethals need homes just as much as normal healthy guineas do.
GREAT NEWS!!!! I found a vet that's also a 24 hour emergency care that's about 30 mins away from where I live and specializes in avians and exotics. Now i have finally found a 24 hour emergency service just in case something ever happens to any of my piggies. I'm definitely going to start an emergency fund for them as well.
YAY! Awesome Idea!! My vet and our emergency vet is 30 mins away with no traffic but they are awesome! Since I always bring all 3 in. They give us a discount on the total price for the checkup and if they need tests or anything they will only charge us for one! They also board guinea pigs incase you ever need to go somewhere you cant bring the pigs :)
That's great that they do that for you. I wonder if the one i'll be using would do that for me as well. They told me to wait another week in a half to 2 weeks before I bring princess in to do an x-ray to confirm whether or not she may be pregnant. She's been getting fatter in the past 2 to 3 weeks. and she weighs 2lbs lol. So maybe i'll still take her or just wait it out. I'm thinking to give it 2 more weeks and is she hasn't produced any babies and continues to get bigger than i'll call and make an appt for her to be seen. I'm just glad i found one that's not so far away. They have one doctor who specializes in avians and exotics which makes me more comfortable because they dont see or treat any other animals but those types. I had called this morning and asked questions and the girl put me on hold to ask the doctor which was great.

Just curious. But should I take princess to a cavy savvy vet to make sure her pregnancy(possible pregnancy) is going well? I don't know exactly how old she is or if she's ever had a litter. So I'm scared that she may need a c-section? Is there a way I can tell if she's had babies before and if so how do I do that?
