Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I was cleaning out the cage and had the girls on the floor when I saw that one of them, Cookie, had a lot of blood in her urine. I saw on guinealinks.com that you can give them natural, unsweetened cranberry juice diluted w/water but they did not say what ratio of water/cranberry juice to use. Does anybody know? |

You can't buy it. The vet gives it to you and gives you all the directions you need for the pig. If you don't take her to the vet, there is a very high risk of her passing away. There is always a big chance that it may not be a UTI but stones/sludge or something else. |

We do not have an exotic vet near us. The last time we used this vet we had to go to a website and find out the dosage and then tell him how much she needed. That's why I'm trying to find out the dosage. |

Can you find a new vet? Where are you located? Or, what's a major city that is close to you. |

You need to see a vet, not just get antibiotics. It could be a UTI, stones, or some other problem. You might have to drive a bit, but she needs to see a vet since she is probably in pain and the problem most likely will not go away on its own. |

Found a vet who sees guinea pigs. Will see him this afternoon but wanted the ratio for cranberry juice/water in the meantime. |

You shouldn't do the cranberry juice. It only really helps pigs with reoccurring URI's, which she might not even have. |

And the evidence that it helps with UTIs is controversial. It might help prevent them, but it is not completely certain. And it's not a reliable treatment. It is also high is sugar, so it's best not to give cranberry juice at this point. |
