Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
Hi everyone, I had my piggie Snowy into the vet last night because he's been having problems with impaction for a while. I've been cleaning out his bottom frequently, which they did at the vet last night. Since I brought him home until this morning, there were no poops in his cage. He did eat a lettuce leaf and a bit of hay but that's all. I'm syringing him Critical Care 3 times a day. Anything else I can do? |

I'd call the vet back. He could have further impaction or some other blockage further up in his intestines from being impacted. |

Did the vet give motility drugs of any type? It may help. I'd also have the vet do some x-rays to see if there is blockage or any other intestinal type of problem. See if you can get a lot of liquids into him. Give him water by syringe if you need to but more water in his diet should also help. |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Unfortunately, I had to have Snowy put down last Thursday because he was just so much worse. He wouldn't eat when I tried to force feed him, wasn't drinking even though I tried to force feed water. I think he was too far gone when I got him to the vet the first time. |
