Does sneezing always indicate a URI? What if they're eating, and drinking, and there's no weight loss and no discharge on their nose/face or paws??? Can they have allergies?? I just picked up Jasmine and I can hear her breathing. It's labored. I still have some baytril in the fridge. Should I give her some? How long would I give it to her? The vet that sees cavies is out on maternity leave and I don't want to go back to her 'cause last time she gave bad advice (use sevin dust). and there is no one that's cavy savy close by. |

Depends on how often she's sneezing. If it's quite a bit, like several times an hour, yes I'd suspect there's something going on that could be a URI. If she's only sneezing every once in a while, meaning maybe once or twice in a week, it's probably not a URI. |

I was able to get the in and they're on antibiotics, i took in my current meds and they calculated a dosage and told me to give it to them for a week. Yeah I've only heard sneezing every once in a while def not more than twice an hour. but they put them on meds just to be sure. I'm not always around so I don't know how often they sneeze or not I just know when I'm around it's maybe once or twice a week at most. |

It's not very common for pigs to actually get allergies. Usually if they are sneezing and it's not a URI then it's caused by dusty hay or bedding. |

Which is probably a possibility since I'm sneezing from the dusty hay. |
