I have 2 piggies that I thought maybe had mites so I treated them with ivermectin and plan on repeating again every 7 days for a month maybe 2. How long after you treated did you notice your piggie scratching less and acting more happy? Do you notice a difference after 1st treatment in a day or 2 or does it take longer? Thanks Teresa |

After the first treatment the mites can flare up and the itching can actually get worse, as the mites are trying to stay alive. This usually goes away after the second treatment. http://www.guinealynx.info/mites.html I start seeing a difference after the 1 to 3 days usually, unless its at the beginning where the mites can flare up. If the itching continues check your piggies for fungal. http://www.guinealynx.info/fungus.html Also you can post additional medical questions here. http://www.guinealynx.info/forums/vi...8c3fe22e9d54b4 Its a forum that specializes in guinea pig health. |

Unless it's a severe case of mites, usually only 3 treatments are needed spaced 7-10 days apart. |
