Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 I gave my pig her bath and put her on her towel after she dried off a bit. 3 Minutes later I sat down beside her and in stead of a clean smell she smelt bad? I picked her up and her black rump was brown-ish. I checked her towel and the was 2 runny pieces of Diarrhea. So I put her in her cage in case she had more but she didnt. I cleaned the towel and hung it up outside to dry. She hasnt had diarrhea today but im just wondering What could have caused this and how can I help? Thxs Bye |

You need to get her to the vet. Straight away. What kind of foods have you been feeding her? |

Diarrhea is actually very serious in guinea pigs and a VERY good reason to get her to the vet. That she had the same condition "a year ago" doesn't mean it's the same thing or that she will recover from it this time. Is she drinking water? Is she eating ok? You might want to start hand feeding her and withhold veggies until her condition improves. In any case, that pig needs medical attention and any home remedy will likely be only temporary if she has a serious underlying condition. |

If your guinea pig has diarrhea, you need to take her to a cavy savvy vet as soon as possible. Diarrhea can be life threatening. |

The grass could have had pesticides or fertilizers on it that could be making her sick. In any event, diarrhea is serious and the pig needs veterinary attention. |

You took her to the vet sometime between last night and this morning? Was it an emergency vet? What kind of tests did they do? Did they give her any meds or other treatment? |
