Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Today I was playing with my piggie and I noticed that his feet were swollen and red. I'm pretty sure this is bumblefoot. The thing is, he doesn't seem to be in any pain! He's walking around fine, and he even popcorned a little when I gave him his veggies. I don't see how he would get it though. He's in a 4x3 C&C with bed sheet sort of thing as bedding. There's fleece in his kitchen area though. Could carpet give a guinea pig bumble foot? Because one of the grids were loose and he kept getting out and onto the floor. How is bumblefoot treated? Does he ingest medicine, or do I have to put something on his foot? Just for reference, how much would it usually cost to have a leg surgically removed? Anything is helpful. Hmm, I've never had any experience in Bumblefoot but http://www.guinealynx.info/pododermatitis.html is a great source of information and might tell you a little bit more than you already know. Sorry I can't help any more than that. :( I hope your piggie gets better! Doesn't seem to be at too bad of a stage so you're doing good that you noticed. |

Okay so I havent been on in a while, but I'd like to say that peanut is all better. It had to do with getting out one night and running around the hardwood floor. I took him right to the vet who was VERY educated. So everythings good now. =D |
