Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Recently when I pat Dd, he left smal white dots on my shirt. I was wondering what it is. Could it be dandruf or yeast? Is there anything I can do to get it off him? Is it something wrong with his diet? He is now 10 months old, feeding on alfafa pellets, timothy hays, vitamin C tablets daily and water. He feeds on lots of pellets and little hay. Could it be that i gave him too much alfafa? |

I don't really know what it could be, but he should be fed 1/8 cup of timothy hay based pellets daily, and also should be fed at least 1 cup of veggies instead of the vitamin c tablets (they don't need those unless their sick or wont eat the veggies). |

Dandruff is often caused by mites or fungus. Are you adding vitamin c to the water supply? You need to free feed grass hay - not feed a little bit and limit the pellets. |

You may need to go ahead and make the switch to timothy based pellets once he's finished his current alfalfa pellets. Start limiting him to no more than 1/8-1/4 cup of pellets per day. Give unlimited amounts of the timothy hay (or any grass hay). I don't see you mentioning veggies? Are you giving him the minimum of a cup of veggies per day? Is your pig scratching alot or have you noticed any hairloss? He could have mites. |

I just want to add one quick thing(wow I say that a lot). If you treat for mites with ivermectin and there's no mites guess what?!? It won't hurt your pig! Yipee!! |
