Re: Scented stuff? I'm not completely positive, but i'm pretty sure it's better to have them as far away from the pigs as you can. It would be better to have natural scents. Such as a sprig of lavender around the room.

Re: Scented stuff? I use scented candles in my house and an essencial oil diffuser sometimes. It doesn't seem to bother my pigs. The candles/oil diffuser are not right next to the cage. I don't use any spray stuff at all.

Re: Scented stuff? I don't think they bother them but just to be sure don't put them by there cages or floor time area. You could also ask your vet

Re: Scented stuff? I burn candles all the time, but I don't set them near the cage or next to it as their sense of smell is many times greater than ours is. I usually put them on the opposite side of the room from the cage. You don't want to use sprays in the same room as pigs though.

Re: Scented stuff? Animals (as people) can develop respiratory problems from all the scented things that we spay and burn everywhere. It's not as big a deal with cavies as it is with birds (where you shouldn't use them ever). It is probably ok, but if your pig starts having sneezing/coughing/skin irritation and it's not mites or a URI- the scented stuff is probably why.
