Unhappy Hobbling!

A while ago I noticed that my guinea pig was making squeaking noises when he walked. Today, I found out why. Before, I kept checking him, his feet, etc to see why he was squeaking but now I noticed that he keeps hobbling with his back left foot off the ground when he runs, but he stands on it fine. And sometimes, when he's walking, he'll stretch it out as far as he can behind him, like he's tired and trying to stretch. When I inspected him today, he let me check his front feet but when I tried to get his back one he kept moving it away from me, (I don't know if this has something to do with it though, because he never likes me touching his back feet.) Then I got it and he stretched it out like he was relaxing or something. I don't think he was hobbling before, I would have noticed before now. But a few weeks ago I was wondering if it was me or if he was being a little "sluggish" lately because when he was standing and shifted about an inch to either side, he'd do it almost as if he was overweight.
I'm taking him to the vet ASAP but I was wondering if any of you have ever had this? I have no clue why this happened, and was hoping that some of you might be able to tell me what might be the problem.
The only reason I would be able to think of was that he fell about 2 months ago, we took him to the vet, he had a torn shoulder ligament and got painkillers and Ovol to get out the excessive gas in his intestines because he wasn't really eating between the time he fell and when we got him to the vet. But if that was the cause, why is he only doing this now? I would have noticed if he was hobbling before if he was.
Sorry about the really long post.

Re: Hobbling!

Is your cage multilevel? If so, your pig could have very well fallen off of the ramp, or something. It could have been on a mad dash around the cage and it could have hit its bowl or something. But I am glad you are being proactive by going to a vet before it progresses any further.
