Anti-Biotics and such

Ok, my little Twoonie got nuetered on the 10th, and I've been keeping a close eye on him, I noticed on monday that he was hard on one side of his scrotal area, and not the other. I called the vet and they would see him on wednesday. The vet at first thought it was a hernia (ahhhhhhh!) but then with another vets opinion(both cavy-savy vets) the determind it was an absess and gave me 10 days of anti-biotics, 3mLs to be give twice a day.

Ok, thats ok, but she said because it was bitter to add some juice to it. Mom bought some juice, a pinapple, banana, orange mix. Ingredients are: water, fruit juice from concentrate, ascorbic acid(Vit C). No sugars or preservatives added. I have read only unsweeten cranberry juice can be used, but as I don't have any, and cannot get any till tomorrow or friday, can I use this in the mean time??? I would only add 1-2 mL just to take away the bitter taste.

I've read that some gps get a drain when an absess if detected, since the vets thought that if it was a hernia, sticking a needle in there would cause damage, is this going to not let the absess go down?

Also, anyone that has had a guinea pig with an absess, or know info about it, can you give me some info. How does the pig act, what did it feel like, look like, etc. I REALLy hope its an absess other wise they might have to operate again, and as I live and hour from the clicnic, the vet days become very trying for Twoonie (showen by him just running around his cage and then sleeping for an hour after he got home)

As said, any info, about any of the topics covered would be great, I really hope its just an absses, though bad, its not as bad as what it could be.

Re: Anti-Biotics and such

Fruit juice from concentrate often contain added sugars. I wouldn't give this. I also replied to your pm you sent me about the other juice.
