| Friend has Guinea Pig with dry sky Hello, My friend got a guniea pig from a petstore. It has dry skin all over his body. The hair can easily be pulled out. He had some fluffy kind of bedding(her words not mine) but now they switched to newspaper. Do you know what he has? Does he need to go to the vet? thanks so much for the advice. |

| Re: Friend has Guinea Pig with dry sky Yes, find an experienced cavy vet. Newspaper is not a good bedding choice. It isn't absorbent enough. If he came from a pet store, mites, fungus, or scurvy comes to mind. Could be all three. Read over Guinea Lynx :: A Medical and Care Guide for Your Guinea Pig and review care. |
