Advantage Treatment About a week ago I discovered my herd had lice and I treated them with Advantage. I read up on it on GuineaLynx and it said you could use up to .1 cc per pound of body weight but that .05 cc's per pound of body weight was effective so that was the dose I gave (the smallest recommended to be effective). My question is, should I treat again to kill any eggs that hatch or anything like that? I know Advantage typically lasts 30 days but should I treat them in 2-3 weeks or sooner just to make sure? I do not see any live bugs on them any more but I want to be sure I've actually gotten rid of them. Thanks.

Re: Advantage Treatment My herd was treated for lice last month. I took the GuineaLynx page to my vet and he treated them accordingly with Advantage. He told me to treat them for two-three months, once in his office, once at home, and if I still had problems to bring them in for a third dose. I have a syringe of Advantage put away in my medicine cabinet for use this month. I've not seen any bugs or nearly as much scratching since the night of their very first treatment.

Re: Advantage Treatment Advantage states on the package not to treat before recommended time on other animals, so I would definitely stick with that label and only treat after the 30 days.
