Re: PetCo and Me

I agree with rabbitsncavyluv...working for them only enable them. It's a hard truth. But you can't save them all. Working there ang buying into their adoption first BS, only justifies their practices. vbmenu_register("postmenu_89933", true);

Re: PetCo and Me

No matter how "well" you do a bad thing, it's still a bad thing. Petco is just trying to use/abuse your own goodwill. If 'adoption first' really meant anything, they wouldn't be selling pigs to begin with -- one needn't look far to see that there is a huge surplus of pigs up for adoption. Action is everything, companies fabricate PR meteriel all the time. But without any action behind that, PR is nothing but hollow words.

Re: PetCo and Me

Why don't you volunteer at the shelter or rescue instead? Working for them only enables them and helps them make more money so they can buy/sell more pet mill animals.

I totally agree with you. Untill they stop selling all animals, they can not begin to lay calim to any kind of "we help animls" idea. I do not blame anyone who works at a pet store. A job is a job. In reality, you have to do what you have to do. Sometimes feeding your family takes priority. I do commend you for caring for the animals and giving them better quality life while you are there. Try to talk to all customers about adoption first. Of, course, won't you eventually loose your job if none of the animals are getting sold?--something to consider. :0)

Re: PetCo and Me

Do you have the contact for the California ones? If so, I'd like it.
