Good point!!! But I do wonder if something like this will convince a great number of people (aside from the site's statistics) to neuter. I can't really imagine anyone going, "Well, I'll only neuter him if he can have fake testicles." But like you said, if it gets people to neuter... Sadly, I have a hard enough time convincing some people to neuter because they think its an unnecesary expense. I know those people won't be investing in fake testicles. ![]() |

Re: Artical in magazine Some people do worry that the dog will know the differnece and I'm sure to some extent they do. I'm sure you'd notice if you woke up in a strange place with one of your body parts missing. I'm sure they don't think they are any less masculine but I'm sure they notice a diffence in pressure, sensation, etc. Ask any guy if he would miss his testicles if you cut them off and I'm sure he'd say "yes" without even having to think about it :P No body want to part with part of thier body, let alone in such a sensitive area. I think it would appeal to people more concerned with thier pets overall mental and physical well being. Not cheapskates. If there wern't other advantages to neutering Kero I would consider it. But since neutering will not only allow Kero to live with his ladies but reduce his chances at chronic impaction I'll trade his temporary "loss" for his health down the road anyday. (I actually didn't want a boar in the first place due to impaction but the humane society missexed him)

Re: Artical in magazine My dog has a bomber jacket. She looks cute, but in the winter here it gets brutally cold with strong winds and snow taller than her, and she has short hair, and is 35 pounds, so she is more comfortable with it than not. Yeah the style looks cute, but it is warm with the fleece on the inside, and water resistance with the fake plastic like leather stuff outside. If she was a big huge husky with a thick coat, I wouldn't do it. If you'd get a product anyway because it would do the dog some good, even if you didn't find it attractive, then its in the dog's best interest, and getting a cute one you like is fine. Hair dye doesn't meet these criteria, and many of the fashionable products are sold at bad pet stores and the carriers don't offer enough room to turn around in, and the products are less comfortable because they are leather or something. Some companies use cheap mesh or thick, shabby looking materials because they are cooler/warmer so the dog is comfortable. Being shoved into a leather carrier would probably feel like an overheated coffin.

Re: Artical in magazine I know the bags aren't very big, but traditional plastic kennels seem to make my cat panicky. I was considering the pink purse style bag they sell at the ferret store because you can attach a leash to it and allow your cat or small dog to poke out his/her head. I think that would help Ukyou's closterphobia issues. But the leather ones with no mesh sound evil. The one I was considering has mesh at least on one side. Possibly both (I can't tell from the picture)

Re: Artical in magazine If you ask me, pink dogs look foolish. I dye my hair, and there are warnings all over the box to use the gloves, wipe excess dye from your skin, etc. These warnings wouldn't be there without a reason. I can imagine the irritation that must cause a dogs skin.
