2x3's are fine for a pair of sows if that is all the space you can make. Boars are territorial and normally require a larger space such as a 2x4 or 2x5. Have you now become the cage police?

And also if you re-read the guideline, it does say a 2X3 in the minimal space for 2 pigs. Because it states that 7.5 sq feet is the minimal which is a 2X3.
