I don't think that all petstores are bad. When I am older I am thinking of opening a pet store and selling animals but I want to get the animals from a shelter and sell them in my store. I will give the shelter half or more of the money I get from selling them. And i will have information in the store about the animals and I will only sell to people who know about the animal they purchase. I would NEVER sell pet store cages or pine or cedar bedding or anything else harmful to any animal. I would also sell cubes and coroplast so people will be able to get the materials to build a c&c cage.

I do agree with you that some pet stores are bed but not all.

I know how you feel Queen B. Here's my "pet store" horror story. I was bugging my parrents for months to get a hamster (not guinea pig) and they finnally said yes. A few weeks later (the first day of summer vacation) we went to get my hamster. Already having a cage, we went right to see the hamsters. Then I heard a really weird sound, and I went to see what it was. It turned out to be the piggies. Well, I couldn't decide which to get, so we continued shopping. An hour or so later, we went back. I decided to get a guinea pig, since it looked cuddlier. A picked out a pig, and named him after my favorite singer, Shaggy. Well, the pet store was right about one thing, "don't get a wheel or ball." they said. Shaggy was healthy until he turned about a year. I noticed he was loosing a lot of fur (that came out in cuncks), I was too young at the time, so I didn't say anything to my mom. He just died about three months ago, and he was only three. He was never very healthy, and he always seemed to be in pain. If I had my wish he would still be alive. I shouldn't have to say that. If you rescue a guinea pig, you know yuo saved him.

I feel so bad for you Lindsey. My piggies never really went threw pain. They were only in pain for about an hour.

At least he is not in pain anymore.

I'm glad they're in heaven too. They have everything they need and more. They will never be in pain again.

Yes I agree. Luckely, Honey was so young that she did not really go threw a deppression. When Cassie died she would always squel in her hidey house becuase she and Cassie would always snuggle together in that. Cassie was almost 6 so she lived a long life. Winnie did not though. She was only 5 weeks old when she died!

She was. She was an abbsinian and she had a brown head with a white crown and her body was white with spots of brown. Her spots sort of looked like a cows spot.
