It really pissed me off because she said, over and over again, "I don't breed rescues" and said that she was a rescue. You canNOT be a rescue if you add to the problem of pet population. It just makes me want to vomit.

I have to tell you, my pig Suzi totally feels so fulfilled that she got pregnant when she was 4 weeks old and had a clingy son and a horny son. Every time Jackie hits on her she feels soooo fulfilled that she had him. You can just tell she feels more fulfilled than Cuddles by the way she, uh, um, sleeps in a different spot. And weighs less. Totally fulfilled.

I agree with you.
As I said on another post, there seems to be a growing trend of breeders starting up a little side line as rescues...with sometimes a rather grey area inbetween. The genuine guinea/general rescues are wising up to them and try to guide people away from them if at all possible.
It's a small world when it comes to animal rescue, especially on a local level.

Haha Salana, . I find it extremely ironic that some people who rescue breed. You save lives only to condemn more? That's like pouring concrete and then hammering it up all at the same time. Ridiculous.

Re: From Caring to Breeding. Rescues are unhealthy

Yeah, I love that "fulfillment" argument, too. It's putting human feelings onto an animal.

My non-breeding sows seem to be just fine - including the spayed ones. They run, play and wheek for veggies just like our boars.

I'm also having another sow spayed soon for ovarian cysts.

Whats with the word fulfilled? It seems you like that word. If I didn't know this was a guinea pig forum I would swear you were talking about your friend Suzi.

I got banned from the forum that originated this thread. It seems the administrators of that forum want everyone to be happy and peaceful all the time, so they can't handle any disagreement or strong emotion. And they issued the statement that Small Pet Central is happy to support and give advice to anyone who breeds responsibly. I think they just don't get it, which is very, very sad.

What's with the two usernames? If I didn't know that nobody would be pathetic enough to do so, I would swear you were semi-literately trolling a guinea pig forum.

It's callled censorship. Certain other gp boards have it too.

Yes, I too would like to know what is up with the two usernames.

Edit: I should ask what's up with the 3 usernames I just found for the same ip address instead.

Re: From Caring to Breeding. Rescues are unhealthy

I missed the boat for that debate thread. I sent a polite, but scathing PM to one of the admins.
