Yea I was never really fond of that movie. I was more of a Disney Princess..Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Aladdin..I didn't really watch many movies. But I mean maybe I was different? I remember Bambi, and Rescuers Down Under. I never wanted to have a pet deer or mice.
So you think that movies are the sole reason for the increase in homeless animals? It's not the fault of parents for giving into the "I want I want" when the parent should know that the kid isn't going to take care of it? I know when I was younger I was unable to keep up with my room, and school work let alone take care of an animal.
People aren't going to stop wanting pets, and I don't see how a movie can change that. I mean I want Prince Charming, but my ideals of "Prince Charming" aren't real. The movies aren't real, animals are not the way they are portrayed in the movies. Yes animals are wonderful, they're great, but they're not toys.
Until people stop thinking of animals as toys there isn't going to be a change in homeless animals, irregardless of the movies.
All I'm saying is parents should tell their kids that animals are not the way they are portrayed in movies and explain the differences. It's a parents responsibility to teach a child between fact and fiction and what's in movies are fiction and they shouldn't want a guinea pig or any animal because of a movie. |
