Careless The, so called, kitchen.

They stated at the top of 'The Kitchen' section of this forum that they are against breeding and are with PeTA.

First of all. PeTA probably doesn't even know about this site and that they wouldn't give a crap about us breeding.

PeTA is for saving animals and adopting and selling and breeding animals to give to the right person who'll look after them thoroughly and to stop people from eating chickens and so forth.

If you disagree I am making a point. As I am on PeTA most of the day I'd probably understand it a bit more.

Re: The, so called, kitchen.

My understanding from reading the top of this page is not that this site is necessarily with PETA, but rather in agreement with the organization's beliefs regarding adopting animals rather than buying or breeding. (If I am wrong, please correct me). And you say yourself that PETA is about saving animals and adopting - values which are also shared by this forum and its' members.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. When you say you are "on Peta", do you mean you support them? You are a member of that group?

You also said that Peta supports breeding animals. That might not be exactly in line with what this site supports.

Peta supports breeding, adoption and RSPCA type pounds such as adoption, rescuing and veterinarianism. They do not support cruelty and the experimentation on animals such as labatories and McDonald's.
I do not want to get on the bad side of you CavyMama but that is how I feel about the kitchen.
So basicly, PeTA supports anything to do with the health, rights and welfare of animals.

Re: The, so called, kitchen.

READ IT AGAIN! It certainly does not say this site is WITH PETA! It says it is pro -animal welfare LIKE PETA and directs you to a different site if you're interested in breeding!

Re: The, so called, kitchen.

That's the thing, silkie, I'm trying to figure out if you are pro-peta or anti-peta. Pro-kitchen or anti-kitchen. I'm not angry, it's just unclear from how you wrote it.

Re: The, so called, kitchen.

You seem to have your facts wrong. Peta does not agree with breeding at all or pet ownership.

That was my understanding too. Their heart is in the right place but I don't agree with all their opinions or tactics.

I went to the Peta site a few years back and from what I understand, they don't think anyone should own pets and their reasoning is that animals should be kept in their most natural state. This is also the reason they don't like the idea of zoos.

They do free animals from labs and then euthanize them which most people scratch their heads at. But I think it's because most lab animals have been experimented on in such conditions that the animals are left suffering which is why once they rescue the animals, they euthanize.

Then I'm sure it will be really easy for you to back up what you say with a link to something from PeTA encouraging the breeding and selling of animals. Shall I hold my breath while I wait?

Re: The, so called, kitchen.

Just because we're a site that cares about animal welfare, doesn't mean we're hand and hand with peta or any other organization. We have our thing, they have their. Just becuase we happen to believe in some similar things doesn't mean we're lump summed all together. I as well would like to see your statement just like blackarrow asked.

Re: The, so called, kitchen.

I finally find time to get back on the site and the first post a read is this nonsense?

Listen SilkiePoo. I HIGHLY recommend you actually educate yourself more and stop making assumptions. You seem to have a habit of making hugely wrong statements under the guise of being some sort of expert. You are not acting like an expert when you do this--you are acting like a fool.

You are walking on thin ice and now that I'm back in town you had better watch out for the big thaw.

Re: The, so called, kitchen.

Silkiepoo, if you have a point, please clarify. Because at this point, as VJ said, your rambling is absolutely nonsensical and as far as I can tell, pointless.

If you were attempting to initiate a debate on the subject of PETA, don't bother. It's a heated topic that leads to a heated discussion that becomes virtually impossible to discuss rationally, logically, or in any manner of sense, and because of that discussions on the matter are not allowed.

What it says at the top of the Kitchen is this:
"Intentional breeding and/or showing "how-to" discussions are not welcome. For more information on breeding, see Cavy Spirit's Breeding. This forum is PRO-ANIMAL WELFARE and animal welfare organizations, such as PETA, IDA and others. Criticizing, baiting & bashing are not permitted. Please find another venue to vent your issues or concerns."

What that means is that you and every other member here is welcome to your opinion on PETA, animal rights and animal welfare organizations, but debating those views is not allowed on this forum. If that's your intention, spare us. If you had some other point on another matter (The Kitchen, perhaps?) you failed to make or argument you wished to present, sally forth.
