| Today we were in PetNotSoSmart. We don't go often, but when we do, we've always noticed they only had 1 or 2 guinea pigs, at most. Well, today they had at least ten! Eek! We all know what movie comes out this week. Thus makes me so sad and mad, that I wanted to cry. At least I was able to steer someone (hopefully) away from the vitamin drops & recommend bell pepper instead. Thanks for letting me share my frustration, and it is too bad they are the only place I can find certain things. |

It's so sad, poor piggies. I went in this pet store called "Town&Country" August of last year and they had two "jumbo" sized cages filled with guinea pigs, I mean there were tons in both cages. Way over crowded. I saw an all black Abyssinian I wanted really bad but didn't get because of all I've read about pet stores, I felt bad for those piggies though. I didn't even see any food dishes in there. They had a "special" also it included a cage and all the accessories for 100 dollars and you get the guinea pig free. Poor things. They had an "extra large" cage with five huge rabbits too with no food dishes also and like 2 or 3 10 gallon fish tanks with tons of rats in them and a few more filled with gerbils and mice. Luckily though they shut down very recently. |

The petstores are stocking up on "merchandise" aka guinea pigs because G-Force is slated to hit theaters on Friday here in the US. They want to be ready for all the kiddies who see the movie and then talk their parents into buying them a guinea pig. I have a feeling there will end up being far too many impulse buys this weekend. I feel sorry most of all for all the cavies that will suffer because of improper care and then be dumped when their human no longer gives a rats behind about them. |

I'm not looking forward to this. I feel so bad for those poor guinea pigs. |

I'm most certainly not excited about it either. The staff at my vet's office have already started asking me if I'm ready for the onslaught of dumped guinea pigs as a result of this movie. People are so careless and cruel. |

Ugh. The petstore by me Scuffy's (in nj) has just got in so many young piggies. As you all said they are stocking up. Poor little piggies. |
