Do you keep your guinea pig with a rabbit? |

Sure do....... Hes only a small rabbit.. infact the piggie is almost bigger than him. They get along great and i have another piggie and another rabbit too! I have a really big hutch outside that sometimes the rabbits go into but the weather has been awful so theyre all together at the moment. |

Rabbits carry various bacterias that can potentially kill a guinea pig. For more info go to www.cavycages.com/rabbits.htm |

And just for the record, so can other Guinea pigs too! They have all bonded and it would be cruel to seperate them "just incase". |

If you have another guinea pig and another rabbit, why don't you put the rabbits together and the guinea pigs together? And for goodness sakes get your animals out of "awful" weather and bring them inside. |

I think thats what i said i did. (Got them out of the rain) I do have 2 of each but they ALL wanna be together,,,they told me so...*winkwink* They are in my garage (leads off my kitchen) so i can allways talk to them. The raBBITS Have a huge home made hutch (outside) but they like the piggies one better .I cant see it doing any harm, theyre all happy and theres tonnes of room. |

From what I understand, the dietary needs of guinea pigs is quite different from rabbits. There's info about it here: http://cavycages.com/rabbits.htm |

You really should not house same species of animals together. Rabbit pellets do not contain the dietary needs of piggies and pig pellets aren't good for rabbits. Rabbits can kick pigs with their hind legs and do some serious damage as well. We aren't trying to jump all over you but we are concerned and trying to explain to you why they should not be kept together. Last edited by Ly&Pigs; 02-09-05 at 02:00 pm. |

We're not attacking you we're just saying that there is a better way to take care of your animals. And I don't think it's funny that your guinea pig is blind. |

Please point out where i said it was funny that he was blind? I was talking about trying to mount a rabbit. Gees,.. Talk about looking for anything you can to comment on. Anyway hes not blind now, he had a cataract but it seems to be clearing up now. |
