Exclamation PETA in the news

I am not critising or bashing PETA, just posting a news article, so I think this is allowed.

Re: PETA in the news

I abhor PETA, they've been doing this for years. It's nothing but a big money making "charity." IMO

Re: PETA in the news

That's horrible! I mean, if they couldn't handle the amount of animals they could have simply transferred them to a shelter right? Still.. somewhere I'm hoping a mad ex-wife or husband is trying to get to someone in PETA and is spreading false rumours.. *crosses fingers*

Re: PETA in the news

Hmmm, but hasn't this all been said before? If it was just a rumour I don't think it would be brought up again.

Re: PETA in the news

This is PETA bashing.

ALthough I know longer support PETA, I still think it's horrible for people to be bashing something thats doing muhc more than anyone of the people bashing them have.

I will say that PETA should not be attacked for this. But the people who created the problem should. If the media put hald the energy into showing people about breeding that they do about PETA problems, we would have much more improvment.

Lastly, that article is sorley misinformed. The first line revealed that. They are Animal Rights not Animal Welfare

Re: PETA in the news

I am not PETA bashing. I don't know enough about it to comment. All I know is they are often critisized for being hypocritical... but I don't know the truth in that! PETA in the UK is pretty much unheard of, I didn't know what it was until I joined this forum.

PETA does it to themselves. They do not choose the best ways to "advertise" themselves. They may have some good intentions but they need to straighten out their public appearance.

Re: PETA in the news

I wasn't bashing PETA, only stating my opinion/feelings about them.

Some of us on here have walked the walk and continue to do so.

I don't know much about it either, but the article itself sure takes a bashing stance - i.e. use of the word "slaughter" instead of "euthanasia."

I'm not sure if part of this was a response to my post. But by saying the.. whole ex-wife rumours thing, I meant to say I hoped it was just someone kicking up dust and the accusations weren't true. In case you misinterpreted, I just wanted to make things a little more clear..

Re: PETA in the news

Sigh.

PETA uses crazy ad idea's to grab people's attention. It's a publicity stunt. And it works.

And thank you Nypmh for clearing that up.

You may be just stating your opinion but it can often be taken in the wrong way. For example I took it the wrong way. But these threads usually result in bashhing.

No, I'm sorry, it's not. Just because some newspaper is bashing PETA doesn't mean that it's okay to post. This thread and this discussion is exactly what I don't want on this forum.

I'm not going to bother going into the why's and wherefores for the umpteenth time. This thread is closed.
