Angry Every piggy needs a friend, but they don't seem to understand...

Hello everybody !
I hope this belongs here, I hope so...
So, I was on another forum (a french speeking one) and most of the members think they are doing the right thing. For exemple, they ALL put vitamin C in their water, they don't put hideys in young guinea pig cages so they can be more "social" etc.
So I was reading a post, it was some one that was asking if she/he should get 1 or 2 piggies. I told him/her that guinea pigs need to be at least 2 as they are social animals and that they will be happier, more social, and live longer.
After I had posted, someone replied saying that I was wrong because she once had a guineap pig that lived to be 8 years old and she was happier on her own. I replied that some guinea pigs are happy on their own but they would probabbly be even more happier with a friend. Someone else replied saying that her piggy was fine alone too.
I'm so mad at them ! They just don't seem to understand !

Here are other things that they think is right :
-Most of them give them "fun colorful pellets", petstore treats, salt licks, vitamin C in their water bottle.
-Some members posted pigtures of their cages, and I was shocked when I saw an outdoor hutch that was covered with snow ! Some said :"they're going to freeze in their !" and others replied :"guinea pigs are meant to live outdoors, they'll be fine!"
-They all got their piggies at a petstore, and they keep complaining of the poor conditions the piggies are in, but they still keep supporting them by buying food, treats etc.
-Members that have bunnys and gp will put them together in the same cage because they are "bounded".
-Some members post adds asking a male to mate with their female piggy because they want "cute and adorable babies" while it could kill the mother. I replied to one add saying to adopt as their are tons of "cute and adorable" babies waiting for forever homes. Some one else replied :"I'm so happy you are looking to have your piggy pregnant ! They are just so adorable ! "

Just makes me so mad
I was thinking of making a thread saying all about shelters, proper care etc. Any ideas of what I should say ?

Simply speak your mind without being rude. And don't type your 'speech' as a reply to anyone because they'll think you're targeting that one person.

Re: Every piggy needs a friend, but they don't seem to understand...

There's a thread here called the common misconceptions thread. It's a sticky in About Guinea Pigs and I think it's in the Reference forum too. I'd use that for some guidelines but don't copy and paste it word for word.

It sounds as if some of these people are just contributing to the already large overpopulation problem.

Thank you for your replies. I already read the sticky thread but will take another look at it to help support my ideas. I will try to not be rude (so far so good !) and hope that they will understand.
