Freedom of Speech Clarification

I guess some people need to go to such lengths for their self esteem. Maybe they could do something actually helpful for animals instead, like volunteer at a shelter? Or even something nice for their fellow humans would be good--pick up trash on the street, donate food to the food bank, smile and say "thanks" to the retail wage slaves they meet.

It is sad to see what people can do to raise there self esteem (or that's what I think you're talking about salana). Some people need to get new hobbies besides spamming a mod's pm box or making us mad. This site is for learning about guinea pigs people not getting us furious with you!!!!

I think you are confusing freedom of speech with freedom of the press.

This site is a 'press' (method of publication), and the owners of this press are basically free to say what they want with it.

This also means they can place any restrictions they like on other's expressions using this press, just like a newspaper can choose to print some letters to the editor, and not others, and edit the letters any way they see fit.

Does this mean your rights to freedom of speech are infringed? Absolutely not. Go to any street corner and say what you like. Or, get your own press, and you can have complete control over its content.

First of all, you don't have to have as many posts as you do private messages. Although I must say I'm not surprised you don't seem to understand how things work. Second of all, you're saying a moderator is singling you out and lying on you for what reason?

Do you really think people here on this forum (or anywhere for that matter) are going to take the word of a person who has a clear history of obnoxious and useless posts over a moderator's? Seriously, I think most of us will go with the moderator's version of things.

And if Salana is to apologize for anything besides putting up with the likes of your ridiculous posts, then fine, but I say YOU also have to apologize for coming here at random times and posting comments that contribute absolutely nothing and serve no purpose other than to irritate people. I don't understand how he could've posted 100 times when it says that he's only posted 40 times, and salana said that he did not private message her, but he made posts, because she said she gets email notifications of new posts.....was she exaggerating or something?

Also, I think that bizziesdad needs a hiatus from here, maybe someone could suspend his account for him. When an account is suspended, its like being temporarily banned, right? Just some ideas.....

It seems pretty simple to me..."freedom of speech" is our Constitutional right to redress the Federal Government.

Going into Mr. Jones' store and spitting on the floor, in spite of his store policy not allowing it, is an issue that Mr. Jones can deal with as he sees fit according to his business practices.

I think Salana's original "100" was an exaggerated example... but you know, that's my opinion... and I think that it's probably a likely theory... and that people need to get over it. This thread has served its original purpose to answer the original poster's questions/opinions, and to keep it going with something so off-topic, is just asinine.

Sophistacavy, I think you mean "cavy caged" where they need approval to post their messages. That's all up to the mods, of course!

I kind of think it’s only fair for someone (even if they are a troublemaker) to set the record straight if they are the target of “lame” and get-a-life comments. Especially if some of those comments come from mods who are supposed to keep things on track, right?

I get multiple copies of some posts (have to get Teresa to fix that, I guess). So between 2 or 3 of each post, people's replies to him, people quoting him...I had about 100 emails that were him or all about him.

I should have known he was back when I had 300 emails from the 3 days I was working all day and couldn't check my email.

Then you blame the 300 in 3 days on me. With 116 posts and any amount of traffic to this site I would guess the actual number was more like 20. Problem with 20, it just doesn't support you calling me names or writing harrassing un-truths about me the way 100 or 300 does.

Sure am glad you are the "lethal mod of doom". Must be the way you enforce the rules without letting your emotions or personal feelings dictate the way you dole out the doom upon people.

I have to wonder what your purpose on this site is? The majority of your posts seem rather inflammatory and argumentative. Are you here to contribute and learn or are you here to argue, pick fights and stir the pot?

No, it's not exaggerated. She even stated they were notifications of threads/posts not direct pm's or emails from him. We mods are subscribed to a lot of the forum areas and I know on most days when the forum is busy, I easily get at least 100 or more notifications of new threads/posts. So please don't assume when you don't know the facts. There is one forum section (I think the Why Can't We Get Along forum section) alone sends us mods out two notifications per every post or thread. For the week I was gone, I had 794 emails in my inbox and the vast majority (about 775 or so) of those were from this site or questions from members that I help Teresa answer. And that doesn't even include the junk mail in my junk mail folder. That was just my inbox.

Thank you, Ly&Pigs and Salana, for clearing up my confusion about how the whole new post notification thing goes for mods, I had no idea.

Bizziesdad's behaviour is a bit confusing to me. I mean, he'll go on some threads like that new one about dogfighting and seem passive, but then he suddenly changes personalities or something, and he'll come on to threads like this and be aggressive. Oh well, whatever.
