Thumbs up A video on Cavy breeding opinions and facts.

A short but useful and informative video.

It also directs you toward the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians web site [ http://aemv.org/ ].

I've watched those videos a long time ago, and I remember not agreeing with all that she said. Especially on cage sizes.
Also, I thought their pelvic bones didn't actually "fuse".

Re: A video on Cavy breeding opinions and facts.

Oh really? I had no idea it was a string of videos and of course I am no expert so I can't prove what she says is right but I like how she mentions that you shouldn't breed and that there are plenty of shelters.
At the same time she does give a hint or two if you do decide to do it and points you towards a site where you can search for EM Vet around you area.
I wasn't too sure about the how pelvic bone issue worked so I read around and found out that the pelvic bone doesn't "fuse" but becomes less flexible thus making the birth process more difficult.

You're right, it's good she brought up that side of the breeding.
It's strange though, that considering she looked like a vet assistant, she made the mistake of saying 'fuse'. Thanks for clarifying that for me though.

I've watched a ton of those videos.
Especially when I started volunteering with rabbits.
I've noticed that she doesn't have always the most updated information.
