Now, on a board where a good majority of active members are animal rights activists, what sort of response were you expecting? A round of hearty "AMENS!"? Positive affirmation for your blatant disdain for a specific breed of animal because they happen to get more media exposure than any other animal?

Did you know that the hippopotamus is the deadliest animal in the world? People take for granted their portrayal as these dopey, ear twitching, rotund animals. In reality they are one of the most dangerous animals in the world. Hippos are responsible for most of the animal related deaths in the world every year. People would assume the culprit would be alligators, "attack" dogs, lions, etc. You know, the animals perceived as the world's most vicious predators? In actuality it's the dopey, fat, ear twitching, herbivorous hippos that pose the biggest threat to humans. Would you not lose any sleep if society decided that a mass genocide of hippos were in order?
