Re: Posititve side

On a side note - I would love to own a pet store. I have it all planned out in my head.... I would stock only the few commerical cages that meet minimum requirements - but more importantly would stock the materials for building decent home made cages, such as cubes and coroplast, wood and sturdy mesh, etc.
I would only sell safe, quality products, such Oxbow pellets and hay, carefresh and aspen. I would not even stock pine, cedar, GP wheels or balls or leashes etc.
I would vet all books and care guides and only sell those giving accurate info.
And I would dedicate a huge wall to advertising pets needing homes in the area.

NO animals, NO dangerous or unhealthy products, and NO poor care info.

Sadly the only way for me to do this is to win the lottery - as I can't see me making much profit!

I'm sorry, but what gives you the power to ignore relevant responses to your ignorant claims of knowledge? You don't have the right to start a debate and then ignore the highly sophisticated responses provided by intellectually superior thinkers than yourself just so you can fight with people who you incorrectly believe have insulted you as a result of your defensiveness that comes from you knowing they're right and you're wrong. This is what is meant by, "YOU DON'T HAVE THE BACKBONE TO FIGHT THIS FIGHT."

Everything that other people have said is 100% correct, but if you want to prove you have a backbone, respond to my earlier post, which is much shorter than many of the others (but in a way, equally or exceedingly encompassing by comparison) and to Gary Francione's blog to show you have a backbone and to prove you're not simply a troll looking to get a rise out of this thread. I see you pathetically sitting in front of your computer in your tiny closet-sized apartment, loving the attention this thread is bringing you, giggling at all these responses and laughing at how you've made steam shoot out of all these people's ears. This type of behavior is what makes me ashamed to be a human being. What you're doing is terroristic in nature, and the saddest part about it is that the suffering you cause to animals exponentially exceeds whatever vain embarrassment you might temporarily cause this particular group of humans through your immature and selfish behavior on this forum. This is precisely why these people are willing to potentially embarrass themselves by feeding the troll and by giving you the benefit of the doubt in the hopes that you're not stupid, that you're not a blowhard, that you can be reached, and that your opinion can be swayed; it's because they're willing to take this chance in order to help the animals that you exploit. If I'm wrong about all this, prove it. Otherwise, you'll go down in the annals of Guinea Pig Cages history as yet another pathetically forgotten inflammatory troll in a long, almost endless list of pathetically forgotten inflammatory trolls. You don't want to be number two thousand four hundred - and whatever. You want to be number one - the one we'll remember. So I challenge you. Prove you have the backbone you've been claiming all along.

I strongly encourage you to watch Earthlings, not for the violent visual images of exploitation and suffering, but for the narration during the first nine minutes and 51 seconds. There is no violence in the first 10 minutes of the film, and it will explain why the comparison to slavery is not only valid, but completely undeniable. DO YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO WATCH THIS WHOLE FILM? DO YOU HAVE THE BACKBONE TO LOOK AT IT FOR 95 MINUTES???

Earthlings

Ahem, I just had to excuse myself briefly.

I don't think so, actually. I think this person really wanted to come here and "win" a debate about this, but they forgot to bring ammo (See choice A in VJs multiple choice). I don't think they are laughing or giggling over it, and I rate them more likely to be steaming and upset. I believe they actually feel somewhat wounded, insulted by us.

And not to demean or make light of your point, but Moby is also totally awesome.

Various finger snaps and hair twirls go here. Wait, what's a hair twirl? Ah, nevermind. I fail at girl.

That's why some people like skinny cats. They are deprived of their heat sustaining fur through genetic mutation. They like human touch so much because they in constant coldness.

They may be so sweet to you, but I don't think you are being so sweet to them. How about pigs without teeth? You can be hand formula feeding them. The pigs will be so sweet to you as their life is more closely depends on you. So sweet!

Oh, I forgot. You are not doing it by yourself. You will just go to a shop that sells them. I just hope that you will not go further and breed them by yourself.

You're probably right, but that's what I want HER to prove. Ammunition in an intellectual war of ideas cannot be purchased like bullets for a gun. It has to be invented. I've found it's often easier and more effective to borrow others' ideas than to try to invent my own, because I'm the first to admit there are a lot of people who are a lot smarter than I am, but in this case, all the ideas being presented are coming from one side of the fence. It makes me wonder about the true intent she had while creating this thread.

It's time she took a huge step back, checked her ego at the door, and tried to understand the concepts we're presenting in an analytical way, rather than immediately responding with more vitriolic nonsense.

I hope she waits a few hours or even days to respond after reading this before she writes her next response. Hopefully she'll allow the ideas to sink in so she can make a distinction between what's being said and the people who are saying it, since she clearly hates us all personally with tremendous venom.

Re: Posititve side

One last thought before I go

You say you want to stop pets becasue they get treated badly, what about kids who get treated badly? Ever heard of David Pelzer, if not, look him up, you'll see what I mean.

As much as you don't want to believe it, I'm a good person and I take care of my pets.

To whoever made the comment about me being there when my sister was raped- I was 5 years old, there was nothing I could do after he hit me. My sister told me to stay on the floor so I did. So **** you.

And there I go, out the door!
Byeeeee you guys are completely and utterly insane and who have nothing better to do than spend ALL your time on this board!
So cya, I'm gonna go and enjoy my life.

And I'm gonna go **** my boyfriend... remember what that's like? Probably not.

No, he was pretty unmemorable.

To address your other points, there are fairly strict laws against child abuse, and many agencies dedicated to preventing it. I'm not sure why people can't be against child abuse and against animal abuse?

Re: Posititve side

I remember your boyfriend, and it still burns when I pee.

I'm so perplexed by the "child abuse makes pet overpopulation okay" arguement. But I still get a tiny pang of delight over being overwhelming right about some net little girl who thinks everyone smarter than her must Live On a Forum. Good ole "You have no life" and "You never score" arguement! Such golden classics from the realm of You Lost a Debate.

Poor boyfriend, hope the sex is worth tolerating the mind utterly devoid of higher thought.

As I used to say in my trollin days "that chick better at least be some kinda hot."

P.S. I'm getting paid to read this forum. I have a totally petty remark about what you might have to resort to in order to get paid similarly, but my last impaction doesn't expect until May 11.

Re: Posititve side

Your "final" post of taunting and flouncing negates any influence you may have been trying to exert with your opinion. I don't think you actually intended to give a view of the "better side," it appears you simply wanted to entertain yourself by getting people riled up. If you really wanted to make a stand for pet stores, you have done the opposite.

Re: Posititve side

I remember Pelzer now! My mom made me read that to try to explain why she stayed married to a sex offender! You and her have a similarly keen and logical thought process. You win again, we should stop breeding children too, because they are abused. The movie threatre should be far less annoying now.

Re: Posititve side

Well, I finally got what I was looking for. The dissolution of the irrational mind into petty insults, foul language, accusations and attitude. They are all so predictable aren't they?

The assumption because we are passionate about one issue that we are blind to others and do nothing about them as well. I can pretty much guarantee Leea83 that most of the members of this board do far more about other wrongs in the world (like child abuse) then she does.

Good one Jen

Awww, Susan. You beat me to it. I was going to give her infractions for all of the rules she broke in her last post. You did miss giving her one for chat speak though. Maybe we should give her a free pass on that one.
