They look like a cross between a squirrel and a GP.

Re: New species of wild guinea pig

If the article is true, then people could buy non mating pairs, and still be able to have a boy and a girl and not have to worry about breeding!! great

Cute. Though I have to say they look an awful lot like Degu's if you ask me.

Re: New species of wild guinea pig

But I think that if you split the mating pairs up, they would be awfully depressed, wouldn't they? I've seen a swan looking for her mate, as they are one of few monogomous species in the world, and I swear, her face was so full of sorrow, it broke my heart.

Re: New species of wild guinea pig

I debated. It's kind of about breeding and genetics and I thought it would be nice to have light-hearted topic about breeding.

Re: New species of wild guinea pig

Are these guinea pigs a naturally occuring species or were they genetically engineered? I'm afraid I'm not up to speed on this topic.

Re: New species of wild guinea pig

Also its cute that the males play with the young, Also I agree I wouldnt want to split up a mating pair just so I can have a non mating pair I'd rather have the male neutered or just let them be happy and breed but then i'd have to many so yeah neuturing would be the way to go.
