Re: Presidential Elcetion???? Ok, thank you for explaining. Perhaps I did take it a different way than it was intended, or differently from what you did. I just don't see why the issues will affect you so much. For example, even if you're, say, Catholic, and you don't think there should be any other religions, you still let them keep their own faiths correct? I think that's the same way it is here, only we're dealing with human sexuality. It's perfectly fine if you're against it, just let's let everyone have that same choice. How can you expect to change the way someone is?

Re: Presidential Election???? Ok wow so many opinions here. But lets point out some facts. Im from PA too, and Bush ran a negative campaign. He was the one bad mouthing Kerry, while Kerry ran on issues. Any imcumbant should always run on their record. Bush had no record in 4 years, and admittedly ran a negative campaign because it's been proven to win, and he did. Any analyst will tell you that. Second, the state has no right to ban gay marraige. Thats a religious morality question. And the government should have leanred long ago to keep its nose out of religion. Is it gonna hurt me if 2 gays get married? NO! Will it hurt you? NO! So let em do it. Third How can some of you say that "some abortion" is ok. And that men should have no say in this issue. Let me tell you ladies something 50% of that life is ours. Yes it's your body and I understand that. But I have a beautiful 14 month old daughter who looks just like ME, and I can't imagine anyone who thinks it's ok for any reason. Regardless of what happened, it's not the babies fault. Now as for some of you who are ok with abortion sometimes. Why not use the aborted fetus for stem cell research. No babies have been killed just for the purpose of the research. So thats a moot point. SCR will enable us to help people with physical disabilities who were born, but didn't have all the advantages we do. And the government doesnt fund SCR. There is a government ban on it. But there are no bans on private companies. Kerry has every right to critisize Bush, and let me tell you why. Here are 25 reasons that are all 100% factual. Nothing to do with Fahrenheit 9/11 or anything. True 100% researchable reasons. 1. He is the all time record holder for the most corporate campaign donations. - So you think he's worried about the US people? 2. The Bush administration had twice as many FBI agents fighting the war on drugs then terrorism prior to 9/11. Even after 9/11 more then 2,000 agents are wasting their valuable time assigned to the war on drugs. - Another war that can't be won...or can be....or can't. Depends which day you catch him. 3. John Ashcroft - Need I say more? 4. Wasted Federal resources on a PR trip to Baghdad where he staged a Thanksgiving Meal at 6am with troops who were screened on political affiliation. What about the turkey you say? It was a prop! - No lie 5. As of earlier this year with more then 500 soldiers dead, he had yet to attend a funeral of ONE fallen soldier. - He still may not have, I'm not sure. 6. He dropped his dog on its head. - Again...No lie! 7. GW deserted his unit in Vietnam and was reportedly AWOL for over a year from his unit: The Texas Air National Guard, or as other military outfits call it...The "Champagne Division". 8. He was the 1st President in the history of the USA to enter office with a Criminal record. 9. 10 million people simultaneously protested GW worldwide. It was the largest protest in history against any person in the history of mankind. 10. He slashed funding for the Violence Against Women Act. 11. It costs 1 billion a week to keep troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. 12. He appointed Charles Pickering, a notorious segregationist from Mississippi as a federal judge. Suspiciously George Bush appointed Charles on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. 13. Under his new legislation (The Clear Skies Initiative). Power plants are allowed to emit triple the amount of the highly toxic Mercury into the environment. 14. He failed to protect over 3 million acres of the Tongass National Forest from logging. This forest has the highest concentration of Bald Eagles on Earth and has already lost 700 sq. miles to logging with 33 more then logging permits pending. 15. He has taken more vacation then any President in US History. Including the total of twenty-eight vacation days he took right before 9/11. After 9/11 he went right back to the ranch, and was more worried about his nature trail then the US. 16. He pulled out of the Kyoto Agreement on Global Warming, which had been agreed upon by 178 other countries. 17. George Bush has repeatedly Stone-walled public investigation on 9/11. 18. He set the record for executions for any governor in US history with 152 executions.... Some of them were mentally handicapped. - I wish I was making this up. 19. Choked on a Pretzel and nearly lost his life while watching TV. - We were sooooo close. 20. Prevented Investigations of Enron and Halliburton. More time and money was spent on the Lewinsky Scandal Investigation then one of the greatest rip-offs in corporate history. 21. Set another record for fewest press conferences by a President since the advent of the television. 22. Inherited a 200 billion dollar surplus and in 4 years and in less then 4 years has turned it into a 521 billion dollar deficit. 23. Repeated attempts to legalize oil drilling in National Wildlife Refuges. 24. Declined to fully fund the AIDS Initiative after promising to do so, instead he slashed it in cuts that totaled over 2 billion dollars. 25. Related to #22. Each person’s share of the National deficit before he took office was $500. Now it’s at an astronomical level of over $24,000. Sorry for the long post. Just be glad I didnt finish my thought, you'd run out of server space.

i too was very strongly anti-bush, but now the election is over, and I think that even thpough some arent entirely happy with our new leader, we need to put that aside and act mature. He is our new president, and he needs our support. |

Re: Presidential Elcetion???? Yeah when you actually look into it you'd be surprised what he's done, or the lack of what he's done. I know he won and we should support him as President. But honestly I don't think I can. I lost all possible respect for that man. Not to mention he was a cheerleader in college. That's right, a male cheerleader is President. haha Still makes me laugh. There was so much back and forth in the election no one knew what to think. That was another goal of the Bush political machine. They figured if they confused the public enough they would win. They were right. Let's just cross out fingers and hope a draft isn't reinstated, and our guys and girls come home safe. Another thing they don't mention in the media. They always talk about 1,000+ troops killed. What they don't mention is the wounded #'s. It's in the 10's of thousands. And our good buddy GW cut funding in half to veterans hospitals. So when our boys and girls get home with missing limbs and all the other atrocities of war, who will care for them? One more piece is that a man running for senate in New Jersey (A state that is having 70% of its reserves called up for active duty) did a survey to find out how well they were prepared to go, found this. Less then 10% of their Humvee's were armored. And you wonder why the wounded toll is so high. By the way I'm not trying to turn this into a political arguement, just giving some facts. Everyone knows the real election doesnt happen till Dec. 12th. Thats when the electoral college casts its votes. We the people don't even pick the Pres. anymore. If we did Al Gore would have been running for re-election. I know you're going to say that the electors vote with the majority of the population in their area. While this is true in most cases. There is no federal law stating they have to. If a bunch of Kerry supporting electors were elected. John Kerry could still be made President under US law. Kinda scary huh? Have a great night everyone,

Re: Presidential Elcetion???? #1 I didn't make the squad! Nothing is really wrong with it. But come on now. The so called "tough guy", the leader of the free world. High School Male Cheerleader. Everytime I see him I think about Will Farrell on Saturday Night Live. Wonder if he does the "perfect cheer" after a bill passes. heehee, Chris

Re: Presidential Election???? In a perfect world....yes! But there's no chance of it happening. But it is possible and legal. If the electoral college got together and decided to vote for Dave Matthews, he'd be our next President. That's how it was possible for Al Gore to win the popular vote in 2000, and still lose the election to GW. The electoral college is messed up. Chris

Re: Presidential Elcetion???? Besides the electoral votes let's not forget the rampant voting problems (trying to avoid saying fraud). There are lots of problems with the 2004 election that most people don't know about since the main stream media is avoiding it. Check out this site http://blackboxvoting.com/ This is not a conspiracy site. It's run by independents (much like Factcheck.org). Thousands of votes weren't counted, were miscounted and lots of these new voting machines (owned by republicans) failed to work properly. I'm going to paraphrase one case as an example. A county in Ohio is 70% registered Democrat. ~4,500 people voted ~700 voted Kerry. ~3,000 Voted Bush So what's the problem you ask? There are only about 1,000 registered voters in that county. Where did the extra 3,500 votes come from? I'm not making this stuff up either. There were big problems with this election as well. Nader is demanding recounts and one county is going to hold a second election because it was so screwy. I’m not saying Kerry won. Even with recounts I doubt that could happen. But I really wish our voting system was fraud free and I wish more people would get angry with the fact that it isn’t.

Re: Presidential Elcetion???? Politics... it's a joke. If you really believe we're a democracy, think again. Many people simply want the power. Where is the power really? And as for the Ohio thing, it's very possible that someone was slipped a little cash, what with all the stuff GW has. Also, think about the Florida re-election: who's the governor or Florida? Hmmm, that's a toughie.
